Cardiff Castle's history stretches back over 2,000 years to the 3rd century AD, when a Roman fort stood in its place. In the 11th century, Norman invaders built a keep that still stands on the Castle Green today. William the Conqueror or Robert Fitzhamon probably commissioned the castle.

The castle is open from 10am - 4pm Monday to Thursday and from 9am - 6pm Friday to Sunday. The entrance for adults costs £12.50.

A visit to Cardiff Castle is not only worth it at night.
Very interesting and well-prepared information material invites you to take a closer look at the relatively large area.
