Treharris to Somerset, a bikepacking century
I didn't know if i could do this in a day and was expecting to have to wild camp along the way. As it happened, despite changeable conditions all around me, hail, rain and wind. I didn't suffer the full force of the weather, slipping through the gaps.

Leaving the jungle late due to more elephants
I startled one, it startled me, peddled like f*k, very scary. But then saw another one grazing on the grasslands on the edge of the forest.
So I didn't leave the top until 12.30 and hit the mid day heat. After the decent it was gruelling. But I'll take that.

Towards Khao Yai
Air quality and humidity was really bad recently. I have developed a cough, I'm wondering how well i will climb tomorrow. I hope it will be cooler up the mountain.

There are some nice gravel sections and sleepy villages. There is about 12k of highway too.

This is a great loop to do from Chiang Mai, but beware the route I took down really is 35% for quite a long way, it works be more suitable for hikers or youngsters in full suss MTbs than gravel bikes. I world recommend rerouting to take one of the many less brutal trails down, komoot show them. Make
