Munnikenweg Cobblestone Road

A unique cobblestone strip in Alkmaar that cannot be missed in the Meewind Course route, because we look back on the cycling classics of the year during the tour.

A challenge to cycle on the back of the cobblestone strip. Thin straps no problem, but you will be completely confused.

If you search well, you will also find several poorly situated clinker roads in the area, but this is North Holland's only real cobblestone road. The Munnikenweg in Alkmaar. A solid kilometer long. In some places the cobblestones have subsided a bit, but you can of course speak of a really tough cobblestone road ... at least, not when you compare it to Flanders or even Northern France. For those who get it all a bit too much, there is always the 'gutter' ... in other words, the tight, well-rolling bricks on both sides of the cobblestone road.
