The church dates from 1734 and the altarpiece was made by one of the great Danish Golden Age painters. One of the first to play some notes on the then brand new organ is Oehlenschläger, also a famous Danish playwright and the creator of “Der er et yndigt land”. So all in all a church with lots of history. Several famous Danes are buried in the churchyard – a quick walk will reveal this.
