There is a documentary reference to the time when the St. Ulrich Chapel (Schimmelkapelle) on the eastern foothills of the Bogenberg was built, which dates back to the first half of the 15th century. The Gothic chapel was certainly used as a rest stop for pilgrims arriving from Deggendorf. Old landmarks, such as a pilgrim's shell, letters and numbers refer to the 16th century.
