Probably the most striking part of the Teufelsmauer is located south of Weddersleben and extends to Warnstedt. There, the Königstein, the Mittelsteine and the Papensteine are lined up over a length of two kilometers.

The Teufelsmauer is a rock formation made of hard sandstones from the upper chalk in the northern Harz foothills. It occurs between Ballenstedt in the southeast and Blankenburg in the northwest over a length of 20 kilometers in three places. It begins with the counter-stones northwest of Ballenstedt and ends between Timmenrode and Blankenburg with the Hamburg coat of arms, the Heidelberg and the grandfather and grandmother rock cliffs.

You should have seen this imposing stone formation. It is a geological anomaly of the Harz Mountains, which is also the subject of a legend that owes its name to the "Devil's Wall". The Teufelmauer runs from Ballenstedt, starting there with the "Gegensteinen" to Blankenburg and can be climbed and walked on in places, such as just behind Timmenrode from the "Hamburg Coat of Arms".
