To accommodate the influx of tourists to Saxony's second-highest mountain, the first guesthouse on the Auersberg opened in 1907. Because King Friedrich August III was so enraged by the small inn, it was expanded in 1914. Today, the Auersberghaus is Saxony's highest-altitude hotel. For opening hours, see: auersberghaus.de.
