The bronze market fountain by Michael Franke was erected in 1989 on the historic market in Lank. When designing the figures, he made reference to the local history. The Lank-Latum originals Stina, Trina and Drickes stand around the fountain. The baskets full of asparagus, strawberries and sour cherries belong to the coat of arms of the former Lank district. The scene depicted revolves around Drickes, who falls in love with the young laundress, his pipe falls out of his mouth and over the box filled with cherries. Both women are amused by this. The Alt-Lanker Marktplatz with its market fountain, which was created by Michael Franke, is well worth seeing. The artist was inspired by the old coat of arms of Lank-Latum, which featured strawberries, cherries and asparagus. The church of St. Stephanus is right next door.
