This parking lot is a great place to take a short break and enjoy the fantastic views of Teide.

The parking lot is also a good starting point for tours in the surrounding area.

The entire Teide National Park is a geological treasure, where volcanoes, craters, vents, and lava flows, as well as various other volcanic phenomena, create a diverse and impressive array of colors and shapes.

Las Cañadas del Teide surprises with its great diversity, is disturbing with its overwhelming petrified lava flows, and impresses with its eroded rocks
and the colossal dimensions of this rocky jumble in the Teide National Park. In contrast, in spring, Teide National Park offers an enchanting flower garden full of gentle aromas and vibrant colors, unique in its kind in the world.

The dominant feature of the entire Teide National Park is Mount Teide itself.

An imposing volcano that presents visitors with a different face depending on the viewing angle and the season. At its feet stretches a sea of volcanic rocks, so young that erosion has not yet had a chance to take effect. Thus, they form a colorful interplay of diverse shapes and volcanic materials, which finds its stage, so to speak, in the amphitheater in front of the wall of Las Cañadas.

The best seasons for the Teide hike are spring (from April) and autumn (until November). In winter it can be very cold on the volcano and there is snow, then the hiking trail is closed. In the summer holidays of the Spaniards (July and August) it is usually very crowded up there, and you have to expect long waiting times (especially for the descent) of the cable car. In addition, there is a very intense sun exposure - the sun is directly overhead at midday and there is no shade.
