Nice destination with many hiking trails nearby and a restaurant.

The Waldsee hunting lodge is a former hunting lodge in the Waldsee district of the Feldberger Seenlandschaft municipality (Mecklenburg Lake District).

The listed building is located in the Serrahn part of the Müritz National Park and is used as a hotel.

The hunting lodge on the shores of the Schulzensee was built from 1899 to 1900 by the Hereditary Grand Duke, later Grand Duke of Mecklenburg [-Strelitz], Adolf Friedrich V.

At the same time, the 6000 hectare Lüttenhägen game gate was built, which the grand ducal family used as a hunting ground.

After 1916 the hunting lodge passed into the possession of Prince Julius Ernst zur Lippe-Biesterfeld through marriage to Duchess Marie von Mecklenburg-Strelitz.

In the 1930s, the first state hunting area in Mecklenburg was established there.

After being used as a hostel for refugees and apprentices by the forest administration until 1954, the hunting lodge served as a rest home for the Ministry for State Security until the end of the GDR.

The historical furnishings of the castle were completely lost.

Since the beginning of the 1990s, the castle complex was used as a restaurant and hotel.

Acquired in 2002 by the Bischoff family, extensive restoration, conversion, expansion and new construction work followed.

In 2009 the redesigned hotel complex opened its doors again.
