Tips

The tour to Taubenstein is a nice short afternoon hike in the Bavarian Alps. With breaks and a cozy wheat beer on the Taubenstein Alm, you can easily make the way (back and forth) in 3-4 hours. For the ascent of the last meters to the summit you should be free from giddiness and height, as there are no barriers. But you will be rewarded at the summit cross, at 1693m with a fantastic view. (Hiking boots are of course necessary for this)

A small, cozy, crested summit, but it has a lot of influx.
Otherwise very good to go if you have no fear of heights

Nice view from above. If you are tired, you can take the train down the valley. Hiking boots are recommended.

The Taubenstein is a well visited summit. Nevertheless, a visit is worthwhile. The short last climb, which is secured with wire rope, can be mastered well. This looks more difficult than it is. Surefootedness and vertigo is still recommended.

Small climb to the summit. A rope gives security! As a reward, there is a great view of the surrounding mountains! Absolutely visit the hut! Delicious food!

Beautiful view. The ascent is heavily exposed in the last piece and Seilinsichert, the way but ceded and very slippery even in light moisture. Dizziness and surefootedness must be present at the summit.

The reward for the ascent is a really great and wide view. For the climb, especially the last few meters, definitely good footwear and sure-footedness should be there. Alpine experience is also an advantage. At the end it is very steep and sometimes only with a bit of climbing up to the summit.

A worthwhile prospect ... Surefootedness, a head for heights and sturdy shoes are essential for safe ascent and descent.

"Alpine ascent": an existing wire rope facilitates the final ascent to the summit cross.
A head for heights required but a worthwhile view!

Great view, but the last part to the summit is a small via ferrata, so not suitable for everyone

Very nice summit cross. But since it is quite easy to hike and can also be reached via the mountain railway, it is mostly overcrowded and full. It is therefore worth continuing to climb to the Rotwand
