Pilgrimage Church of the Visitation of Mary

The church's origins date back to the Middle Ages, as it is already referred to as an "old building" in a document from 1401. The Romanesque structure originally had two towers.

The chancel and the tower still contain Gothic elements. However, the current church is Baroque in style. Major renovations and expansions took place in 1716 and 1743. The pilgrimage church is a single-nave building with a recessed chancel; the nave consists of four bays, which were added during renovations in the 18th century. The church features a facade tower with an onion dome and pilasters.

The cemetery wall dates from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The high altar, dating from the 18th century, is located in the Gothic chancel. The miraculous image is integrated into this altar. The figure is a painted wooden statue depicting Mary with the Christ Child. A description from 1510 exists, suggesting its origins in the late Gothic period. The altar features secondary figures of John the Baptist, his parents Zechariah and Elizabeth, and Saint Joseph with the Christ Child.

The nave fresco "The Glorification of the Rechberg Image of Grace" and the chancel fresco "God the Father as Ruler of the World," both dating from 1772, are attributed to Otto Gebhard. The church contains numerous votive tablets and candles, attesting to the continuing pilgrimage tradition.

The church houses a very well-preserved historic organ, built in 1823 by Wilhelm Hepp of the Upper Palatinate as a purely mechanical slider chest instrument. The organ was restored in 2009 by the Sandtner Organ Building Company of Dillingen and blessed by Pastor Georg Dunst on July 26, 2009.

The patronal feast day is celebrated annually on July 2nd, which still prompts pilgrimages by believers primarily from Beratzhausen, Kallmünz, Hohenfels, and Lupburg.
