Nice newly surfaced descent, which was totally empty at dusk. Nearly missed the turn off as it had recently been remodelled. When we found it, the sunset was astounding! Amazing colours on the desert rocks as we descended on a new tarmac road, no traffic at all, dusk coming on quickly, lights on and flat out downhill on our fully laden bikes. Darkness fell quickly and then the stars came out. If you turned off your lights, (not recommended) the view of the stars was amazing: satellites, Orion and a tiny sliver of moon giving no background light — it was worth stopping just to take it all in.
