In Zeltingen-Raching are the remains of a castle, which are dated approximately to the year 1180. The castle ruin Rosenburg is a popular destination for hobby archaeologists, as the remains only suggest what it must have looked like once.
According to tradition, the castle is the birthplace of St. Kunibert, who lived there from 623 to 663. So the castle also comes to her second name Kunibertsburg. Later he became bishop of Cologne. He bequeathed the castle and the possessions of his father after his tenure at the Archdiocese of Cologne. Thus, he also handed over the affiliation of Zeltingen and Rachtig to the Cologne Archdiocese.
The castle was once around 1573 as the seat of the Kurkölnischen bailiff, until the time when it was uninhabitable. Then the courtyard was filled with slate and vines planted. Today only remains of the quarry stone masonry remain.
