  • It's not just the Montjola ponds that are worth a walk. It's best to start in the municipality of Thuringia and walk along the serpentines along the Montjola waterfall up to the Quadern plateau above and to the romantically located Montjola ponds. The Gadenrundweg begins there, rising slightly and with a beautiful panoramic view of mountains, meadows, forest and small flat moors up to Bargand. The highest point of the hike has been reached here and now we go back down to the ponds and through the Dunkelwäldle back to Thuringia.
This hike is a pleasure in all four seasons! Time required approx. 2.5 to 3 hours.
On my YouTube channel – Roswitha Satzinger – I present this tour as GADENRUNDWEG.
