The train goes in the direction of the Karwendelspitze. The museum at the upper train station is definitely recommended for families, and the tunnel in the direction of Dammkar is also worth seeing. The summit is about 1-2 hours' walk from the station, and the "via ferrata" is highly recommended. My insider tip is the ascent from the valley. Next to the cable car are the markings. The ascent to the summit and the descent via the via ferrata take about 6-8 hours.
