The Ulmer Hütte - Stuttgarter Hütte crossing over the Trittscharte is permanently closed
Due to the high risk of falling rocks, the transition over the step remains permanently closed. The transition between the two huts is possible via the Valuga or with a valley descent via Zürs.

Hiking
The Steittscharte is also called the Steittkopfscharte and is a 2,580 meter high pass. The Robert Bosch Trail passes here and takes you to the glacier remains of the Pazüelferner. The ascent requires surefootedness and a head for heights and is partially secured with wire ropes.
