On the 8 km long circular hiking trail, you can admire the awakening and sprouting nature on foot or by bike. The path was renovated or expanded in 2009. For lovers of water sports, the lake offers ideal conditions for surfing, sailing, rowing or canoeing. The annual dragon boat race is a highlight.

The Einfelder See is located in the north of Neumünster between the Einfeld district and the village of Mühbrook. It was formed as a subglacial drainage valley during the Vistula Ice Age. Since there are no tributaries to the lake worth mentioning, it is fed by groundwater and precipitation. It owes its scenic charm to the border location between the natural areas of the Eastern Hill Country and the Holstein Vorgeest.
