Finds from the Neolithic (4000 BC) and the Bronze Age are evidence of early settlement in this region; The well-known Celtic princely grave was discovered in the neighboring high village (6th-7th centuries BC). Numerous manors, which have been proven in large numbers in the fields, indicate intensive settlement in Roman times. They all fell victim to the Alemanni, who took over rule from the 3rd century onwards. Vaihingen's nucleus will have been the Alemannic settlement Feinga. Count Cunibert's deed of donation is the first written evidence of its existence - the pious knight transferred goods in “Feinga” to the Fulda monastery in March 779 - proof that the place can look back on more than 1200 years of history.
