At the beginning of the 17th century there was a wave of witch trials in Odenthal, during which numerous women were accused of witchcraft and burned at the stake in Bensberg. The last convict was Katharina Güschen, who was executed as a supposed witch in 1613. Your trial file, which is still preserved today, is a shocking testimony to the legal process then common.
