Hiking

The St. Wendelinus Chapel in Schellenberg was built due to a cattle plague. The people had made a promise: If the disease among their pets stopped, they would build a chapel to Saint Wendelinus. The promise was obviously kept, because here you will find this gem.

In 1737 the first Wendelin chapel was replaced by a second and turned into an actual measuring chapel. Wendelin's Day on October 20 has been a feast day since 1825. The chapel has been a listed building since 1973.
