The St. Wendelins Chapel in Schellenberg was built due to a cattle epidemic. The people made a promise that if the disease among the domestic animals stopped, they would build a chapel to Saint Wendelinus. Apparently this was the case and so you can now find this gem here.

In 1737 the first Wendelin chapel was replaced by a second and turned into an actual measuring chapel. Wendelin's Day on October 20 has been a feast day since 1825. The chapel has been a listed building since 1973.
