A so-called gust of wind caused devastating damage on August 18, 2019 in the Langen district. Almost the entire forest area between Dieburger Straße, Koberstädter Straße, the long-distance cycle path R8 and this forest path between Langen and Götzenhain has been destroyed and is now being worked up on meter-high stacks of wood. Where previously there was a stately forest, at best a steppe landscape can be expected.
