Via Zanino colle di Ranica is one of the climbs that lead to the hill of Ranica in the heart of the park of the hills of Bergamo.
This climb is very interesting for its development, 1.7 km of concrete road with a difference in altitude of 300 meters and passes, important numbers that invite you to try to conquer it. For the bikers of the area it is a reference climb, a challenge that sooner or later everyone wants to win.
It is called "the salida del Marsio" because in these parts and on this climb the MTB marathon champion Marzio Deho usually trains.
Do not be disheartened if the first time you do not ride it completely in the saddle, you need a decent workout and have traveled it at least once in order to understand where and how to use your energy while climbing to the top.
To reach the climb we must go to the Fornaci di Ranica area, a hilly area above the town, from the center of the town take via degli Alpini and then via Trieste, after the traffic island with a small garden in the middle starts via zanino colle.
At the beginning it is an asphalted road in the midst of houses, you pass a bottleneck in the middle of old houses and then gently level for 200 meters to the last house on the left, just behind the concrete wall begins.

It really is hard to reach a top without putting your foot on the ground! Really hard to climb to the top without walking!
