The new Lion Bridge in the Tiergarten opened on July 3, 2025. The bridge is for pedestrians only and crosses a bay of the Neuer See lake. Instead of bronze lions, there are now gold ones.

The Lion Bridge was a suspension bridge that was built in 1838. The sculptors Christian Friedrich Tieck and the architect Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse were responsible. A few years ago, it was initially closed due to dilapidation and then dismantled. Today only three of the originally four lions are left. There are plans to rebuild them.
