Along the route from Terni to Marmore (upper viewpoint of the waterfall), on the left there is an installation of the widespread Museum of the Plenarists. It is a simple idea that allows us to observe the town of Papigno as painted by these painters who, in past centuries, had chosen the "Terni basin" as the subject of their paintings. Other installations are found in Piediluco, Cascata and Narni.
The widespread Museum of the PRENARISTI is an itinerary, divided into different sections, which develops along the valley of the Nera river to discover the places where the plenarists painted.
The founding idea of the Widespread Museum of the Plenarists (MDP) is to recall and show the paintings of the painters en plein air, through photographic reproductions placed in the salient places of the Terni valley, exactly where the artists created them two centuries ago.
The intent is to reconstitute 'on site', at least in part, the great heritage of works currently dispersed in numerous private collections and in around 70 museums around the world.
The visitor will be able to relive the emotion felt by the artists. In fact, in many places the landscape has remained intact and still maintains all the charm and magic of that era.
