Without being as popular as the illegal Algarrobico hotel, in Almería, this is another sad example of the legal complexities and lack of will to tear down a building that should never have been built, both due to its environmental impact and the technical complexities of the environment. Although this area was saved from being turned into a golf resort and now enjoys a higher degree of protection, the building has been abandoned for a whopping 50 years. While it is decided whether it should be demolished or put to public use, it remains a sultry reminder of the uncontrolled and unsustainable development that our coastlines continue to suffer.
