The more than 100-year-old Wohlei Bridge is a piece of romantic architecture in an even more romantic setting. The nearby Brätliplatz and the associated Brätliplatz with Buvette, sunbathing lawn and toilet facilities put an end to romance, especially when the weather is ideal for bathing and barbecues. Impressive bridge over the Aare. The Wohlei Bridge is a road bridge built in 1920 over Lake Wohlen near Bern. It connects the communities of Frauenkappelen and Wohlen. The arched bridge was built at the same time as the Kappelen Bridge by the Bernese Power Plants when the Aare was dammed for the Mühleberg hydroelectric power plant.
