The small neo-Gothic hall building was built in 1905 by architect Grieshaber from Ludwigshafen. The church has been renovated.

It is the successor to a small church that had stood at Hintergasse 22 since 1719, but had proven to be too small and had also become too dilapidated. As early as 1895, the presbytery decided to collect a levy from the 439 Protestants in the town at the time to create a church fund.

On March 30, 1904, the first groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new church took place. The ceremonial laying of the foundation stone took place on Sunday, May 8, 1904. After almost exactly a year of construction, the Christ Church was ceremoniously inaugurated on April 2, 1905.

The pastor at the time was Wilhelm Michel, whose gravestone now stands to the right of the church.

The church was renovated in 1989/90.

In 2005, the 100th anniversary of the Christ Church was celebrated with a community festival.

The church has been preserved almost entirely in its original furnishings.

The stained glass windows offer a wide range of images with people from the Bible and church history:

The prophet Isaiah and King David are depicted from the Old Testament, as well as the four evangelists Matthew, Mark, Luke and John from the New Testament. The two reformers Martin Luther and John Calvin are also depicted. King Gustav Adolf of Sweden and Frederick the Wise, who 'helped' the Reformation partly politically and partly militarily, are also represented.

In the choir window, Jesus can be seen as the good shepherd, flanked by two angels ('Gospel' and 'Law'). On the picture rail below, the two evangelical sacraments are remembered through the baptism of Jesus and the Last Supper.

A communion chalice is depicted in the center.
