The first wind turbine in the Ruhr area was built here. This wind turbine is not only able to cover the electricity needs of the entire Bergerhof, but also supplies excess electricity to the local energy supplier. Another wind turbine for the power supply of 1500 families was put into operation in 2010.
However, a wind turbine fell victim to a storm in 2021.
