The wall, which is welded from eight wide flange beams made of Corten steel and made transparent by seven window-like recesses, is part of a path of remembrance of the Cologne-Müngersdorf deportation camp. In 1941, National Socialist Cologne set up a camp for the city's Jewish population in and near the former Fort V of the Prussian fortifications. From here, thousands of people were deported to extermination camps.
