In 1978, the Cambodian Khmer Rouge wanted to demonstrate that the Mekong Delta belongs to Cambodia and set up a massacre of over 3,500 people. Only two people from the village survived. Last but not least, "Revenge for Ba Chuc" was one reason for Vietnam's invasion of Cambodia and the liberation of Cambodia from Pol Pot's terror regime.
