Here, at Unteres Rinderfeld at an elevation of 1,650 meters, hiking trails 601 and 617 intersect. The climb is rewarded with fantastic views of the beautiful mountain landscape. From here, we continued hiking to the Hofpürglhütte. At that time, our miniature schnauzer Buddy was still young and in top shape and ran along brilliantly the entire route.

From the Hofalmen pastures, the trail heads toward Unteres Rinderfeld until you reach the Linzer Weg. Lush green meadows, rolling hills at the foot of the Hochkesselkopf, and beautiful, unobstructed views to the south toward the Hohe Tauern make this section above the tree line a true scenic tour.
