A new pilgrimage church was to be built in neighboring Fuchsmühl. The got
Devil in anger and tried to thwart the work. The construction was already completed and
awaited the initiation. Then one day the devil took a giant stone from the
Height of the stone forest to crush the building of God. On the way he met a woman with her bundle of shoes on her back. Asked how far
it was still Fuchsmühl, she pointed to the torn soles of her shoes, as if to say: "So far that I walked through my shoes on the long way". Then the devil got angry, threw the stone to the ground and gave
his devilish plan. The traces of the chain can still be seen today
Satan had wound around the stone. When stone carvers once split the colossus and
tried to blow up, fire broke out of the rock, so that they had to abandon their project

The pilgrimage church of Our Lady of Fuchsmühl is visible from afar. It is a hall building with a double-tower façade, built between 1712 and 1726.
The Fuchsmühl landowner of Froschheim had a copy of the Passau image of Mary Help of Christians erected in 1688. The large number of visitors to this church required the construction of the pilgrimage church of Our Lady as early as 1712. The tall rectangular building, without a separate choir and with narrow cross arms, has unusually low towers. The temporary roofs, which were put on after a fire, cannot be replaced because the church façade was incorporated into the municipal coat of arms. The pilgrimage chapel from 1688 is connected to the penultimate northern nave bay. The high altar from 1700 was acquired in 1885 from the Deutschherrenkirche in Regensburg. The altarpiece is by Oswald Onghers.

Construction of the church building began in 1710, and in 1725 the construction was completed and consecrated in 1726. The flattened towers seem peculiar and unusual. Originally, they were higher and provided with helmets, but several storms were each great damage done, so the towers were removed to the current height. In the meantime they have become the symbol of the Fuchsmühl market due to their unique shape.Source and more information
