This church from the 15th century is considered a gem of the Bad Gastein cultural region. Its well-preserved late Gothic frescoes and the awe-inspiring Baroque altar are particularly worth seeing. The oldest stone pulpit in the province of Salzburg is also located here.
The late Gothic church, built around 1400, was first mentioned in 1412 and was a pastoral church until 1639. It was renovated in 1893 and restored in 1950-1953.

The Nicolaus Church is currently only used for church services directly in Bad Gastein, as the Preimslirche is currently closed due to static problems.
