»Senjokaku Hall« (pavilion with 1000 mats) is the common name of the »Hokoku shrine«. The name describes the spaciousness of the building, since "Senjokaku" is actually about the size of a thousand tatami mats. The hall from 1587 is located on a small hill next to the »Itsukushima Shrine«.
