Tips
This is only the beginning of the 3mile walk from the parking lot to the green sand beach. For 20$ some locals bring you in their jeep or let you pass „their“ land in your own vehicle.

The hike along the coast is very nice and the Green Sand Beach (Papakolea) ends up being much more. Under no circumstances should you drive to Papakolea Beach yourself unless you are an extremely experienced off-road driver. The subsoil is very sandy, uneven and there are deeply cut fairways that leave no room for maneuvering.
