Their use as a sawmill was followed by the use as a meeting point for the elderly and as a youth room after the Second World War. This was followed by decades of sleeping beauty in order to shine even more beautifully after the fundamental restoration. With his decision in 2000 to restore the mill, mill owner Walter Willemsen played a key role in ensuring that Kessel once again has an attractive entrance to the town.
