from the inside it looks like a window only, but there is a ladder behind. since the fort/wall costs 8 euro entry, it's an exit only. but we used it as such for a great way back via the chappel and the bar with outlook.

I'm only commenting to point out that it makes more sense to use this as an exit after regularly walking the walls via the official stairs including entry. Everything else is left to your conscience :)

Definitely the much nicer option back to town on the zigzag gravel trail. The church behind is fantastically idyllic!
