First as a Celtic fortification, then as a Roman town, Petinesca formed from the 2nd century BC. Until the 4th century AD the center of the region.
The place was also located near the navigable Aare. The station was occupied until 380 AD. Already in the 19th century first excavations were made. Conserved are the remains of a temple district and a gate. New excavations brought to light a craftsmen quarter, a burial ground and three draw wells.
The facility is located in the middle of the forest.

Combining sport with culture is always great. Reading in a little before the visit helps to find the various places on site, such as the draw well.
