The small town of Stakendorf east of Schönberg has its own beach with around 450 inhabitants: Stakendorfer Strand.

A wide and natural, white sandy beach stretches over a length of approx. 1.8 kilometers from the Schmoel nature reserve in an easterly direction to the fishermen's huts on Schönberger Strand. The border between Schönberg and Stakendorf runs right through the fishermen's stalls on the dike. On this beach, which is free of health taxes, you will find a wide dune landscape, especially in the eastern part, where you can sunbathe sheltered from the wind. If you cycle eastwards from the fishermen's huts about 1 kilometer, you will come across an unofficial nudist section between two groynes. Many guests now use this area as an alternative to the nudist beach in California.

Another special feature is the 400 meter long transverse pier in the area of the nature reserve. The beach there is particularly wide and a real insider tip for beach lovers. This beach area can only be reached by bike or on foot. In the western area of the beach, directly behind the fishermen's huts, there is a boat mooring east of groyne 42. There, the camping site “Grasbleek” borders directly on the dike. You won't find any holiday homes or holiday homes on Stakendorfer Strand.
