The Benedictine abbey is settled since the year 764 in Ottobeuren. Today 19 monks live here. A visit to the basilica is a must on the tour.

Built from 1737 to 1766, the basilica is one of the most beautiful German Baroque churches, a sublime structure of European renown. From February to November, there will be a guided tour every Saturday at 2pm. The world-famous Riepp organs in the basilica are consistent in their craftsmanship, design, quality and sound as a top performance of organ building of all time. For nearly 50 years, organ concerts have been held for an audition, which are usually performed free of charge from 4 pm on Saturdays from February to November. Donations to maintain the organs are very welcome.

The basilica is really worth seeing - from the inside, but also from the outside. Already at the entrance to the car in the town stands out on how they sympathetically dominated this - it is huge and perched on the market square, absolutely worth seeing!
