The spell forest southwest of Ottobeuren offers many different ways to go for a walk. For children there is the almost 3 km long forest adventure trail with 11 stations to discover. The round is marked with woodpecker signs and lasts about 1.5 hours. The educational trail is accessible with an all-terrain stroller.

The Bannwald circuit is the longest at 5 km and mostly runs along the edge of the forest. This path leads past the Ottobeuren Observatory and the Bee Educational Path.

The terrain trails are also marked and provide beautiful walks. The shortest is a good 2 km long and takes about half an hour. The middle one is almost 4 km long, takes just under an hour and leads along the Motzabach. The longest is a good 4 km long and takes around 70 minutes, with a few gradients in between.

In the Kneipp Active Park between Bannwald and Kloster you have a beautiful view of the basilica from the Ulrichsweiher. There is also a gymnastics meadow, a Kneipp pool and a small playground.
