Eisenhut Memorial and Summit Marker

The Eisenhut is a hill in the north of Bruchsal. (218.6 meters)
Here a memorial stone was erected in memory of Ânton Eisenhut.
Eisenhut was a leader of the peasant uprising in May 1525 and was executed in Bruchsal.

The Eisenhut is a hill in the north of Bruchsal. At 218.6 meters above sea level, it is the highest point in the northern part of the Bruchsal district. It serves as a resting place for hikers.Here is also the base of one of the two candelabras that used to be in front of the building at 13 Kaiserstrasse (the whereabouts of the second base are unknown). By adding it later, this base serves as a signpost to Unteröwisheim / Rohrbacher Hof or Bruchsal. The specified altitude "221 M a.s.l." is imprecise.The name refers to Anton Eisenhut [1], who was executed in Bruchsal as a leader of the peasant uprising in May 1525.The rest area with a wooden bench was located in the front area in 1985 and was later moved south towards the base.
