Born in Goldlauter in 1780 as the first of 2 sons of the local pastor Johann Heinrich Christian Friedrich Anschütz

1824, 1828, 1830 Publication of 3 books by Reclam as the first school song books, collected folk songs, wrote texts suitable for children on well-known melodies (e.g. every year again, O Christmas tree, fox you stole the goose, the mill rattles on the rushing brook, When I do would be a bird)

In his memory, on the occasion of his 200th birthday in 1980, a plaque was attached to the rectory and in 1999 a memorial stone was placed in front of the rectory.

A street in the “Breites Feld” residential area in Goldlauter-Heidersbach is named after him.

For the 225th birthday, a wooden relief was unveiled on the Goldlauter car bridge in 2005. The designs come from the Suhl sculptor Ulrich Bühling and were created by Vital Sidorow from the twin town of Kaluga.
