You can't miss the Silodam. There are two old grain silos on the dam. One stone and one concrete. Two monuments. They were converted into apartments in early 2000. The colorful new apartment building was also built on the head of it at that time. You have a beautiful view over the IJ. Depending on the time of year, just to the right before you enter the Silodam is Het Stenen Hoofd, an old harbor pier where around 1900 seagoing vessels that were too big to sail into the city docked. Most of the year it is now a deserted area, but in the summer there are often very nice events, such as the free film festival Pluk de Nacht where you can watch a movie in a beach chair while the cruise ships sail by.
