The Lanstroper Egg is a former water tower with a steel K framework and a steel container, since 1981 as a water tower without filling and out of order.
This tower is visible from afar on a hill. The nickname is derived from the location and shape of the steel container.

The "Lanstroper Ei" has a height of 18 meters, a diameter of 14 meters and a capacity of 2,000 cubic meters of water.
The whole tower is 60 meters high.
The water tower is the last surviving Barkhausen tank in the Ruhr area.
