The linden tree on the Benkesberg in Munderkingen was named after the engineer Guillaume Grellet, who died in 1887. Whether the tree is 120 or 130 years old can not be proven in the city archives due to the lack of a chronicle of the beautification club. However, it is reported that this association has planted the summer linden in memory of his former chairman. Guillaume Grellet was once a partner of the art mill, the city mill. Born in 1849 in Boudry in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel, the later engineer initiated the construction of the new mill and the extension of the hydroelectric power plant following the demolition of the old mill. In 1876 he married in Munderkingen Wilhelmine Amalie Krauss.
