The Remstal Viaduct between Waiblingen and Neustadt was built between 1875-76 and crosses the Rems between Neustadt and Hohenacker. The viaduct is part of the Murrtalbahn, 45 m high, 240 m long and was opened in 1876. Neustadt got its own train station.

On April 21, 1945, a section of the viaduct was completely senselessly blown up by members of the Wehrmacht. The viaduct was repaired by the installation of an auxiliary pillar by the summer of 1946.

The Murrtalbahn was expanded and electrified with two tracks between Waiblingen and Schwäbisch Hall in 1965. It is now part of the Stuttgart - Nuremberg rail link.

In 1981 the Neustadt-Hohenacker station was connected to the S-Bahn.

can be loud for a moment when a freight train crosses the bridge high above their heads.
