The Blue Quarry on the outskirts of Ehingen was built at the end of the 19th century when the former cement factory exploited material for its production. Since 1980 the nature reserve offers the quarry frogs, toads and all native pig species as well as the grass snake and various crickets and dragonfly species habitat.
