The Lovaart is a canal in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The canal forms a connection between the Nieuwpoort-Duinkerke Canal in the city of Veurne and the river IJzer near Fintele in the municipality of Lo-Reninge.

This canal is 14 km long. The canal was dug out and made navigable in the 12th century. It also served as a drainage for excess water from the IJzer. Originally, a weir was built in the hamlet of Fintele, near Pollinkhove. When the water level of the IJzer is high, gates are opened there so that the water can drain. In the 13th century the canal was made 2 rods (7.65 meters) wide; in 1622 it was further explored.
